I am utterly perplexed! My dearest bosom friend is causing great vexation regarding when we shall commune for lunch. I am presently monopolized at my vocation and unable to join her at McDonald's. I know not if she will be able to wait for me.
We may laugh or "lol," but words and the way we use them say a great deal about our personality, our roots, and our maturity level. Oftentimes, girls do not grow the art of a well-rounded vocabulary and never discover the true benefit of speaking with concise clarity and confidence.
Now, I'm not implying we should go around speaking like Shakespeare -- we should just get rid of the junk words in our lives. Ya know, like, yeah. Junk words are those added words that only clutter our sentences and make us sound confused and silly. We want people to feel at ease and as if we are truly engaging with respect for one another. Getting rid of junk words does not mean we should then tout elaborate words with whomever we are around. A well-rounded vocabulary can offer a wider audience -- not boring highly intellectual people, nor making friends feel inferior.
Consider Paul. His ministry was a wonderful example of how to connect with people in many walks of life, bringing many to Christ. I think if Paul needed to use texting lingo to convey Christ he would have. ;)
For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. I'm guilty of some of these and you probably are, too. Try to replace these words with the wonderful variety our English vocabulary affords. To widen your vocabulary, play Scrabble and Words with Friends, work crossword puzzles, etc. Become a word nerd! ;) Remember there is NEVER room in a young woman's vocabulary for cultural curse words. These words paint an impure image to those you are around. You will most likely hear them in your life; you are not immune to hearing them or using them. Understand that it is your responsibility as a Christian to filter them out.

One of my favorite words is WONDERFUL. Which means(as I quote from the dictionary) Admirable;Excellent. My brother Zachery, very strongly dislikes the word awesome.
